加拿大日常俚语推荐

在加国学英语, 最有趣的大概就是可以讲到很多俚语。 很多时候光耞那些句子, 好像不容易马上可以会意出来他们在说什么, 耞了几次后, 就慢慢可以了解这些俚语的含意了。这里整理出来的, 都是一些很常耞到的“酷语”! 不过, 不管什么语言, 都应该考虑到说话的对象、场合与时间, 有些俚语并不适合在正式的场合用。

What\'s up? 怎样?

　　A: Hey man, What\'s up?

　　A: 嘿! 怎样?

　　B: Nothing much.

　　B: 没什么

　　"What\'s up?" 并不是“什么在上面的意思?”。它和 "How are you doing?"、 "How\'s it going"、 "What\'s new?"....等等, 都是加国人很常说的寒暄语。如果你懒得讲, 或许真的没有什么特别事, 就回答 "Nothing much."

　　Long time no see. 好久不见

　　A: Hey, long time no see. How have you been?

　　A: 嘿! 好久不见。 近来好吗?

　　B: So so.

　　B: 都系咁啦!

　　注: 据说 "Long time no see." 应是从中文来的。

　　I have heard a lot about you. 久仰大名

　　A: I\'ve heard a lot about you.

　　A: 久仰大名

　　B: Good things, I hope.

　　B: 希望是好事!

　　初见面的问候语其实还有不少; 像"How do you do?"、"Howdy" 都是“你好吗?”的意思。

　　You look great today. 你今天看起来很好(有精神、好看等)

　　You look great today. I love your new haircut..

　　A: 你今天看起来很好看。我很喜欢你的新发型。

　　B: Oh, yeah? Thank you. I like it, too.

　　B: 真的吗? 谢谢。我自己也喜欢。

　　加国人是从不吝啬赞美人的, 因为赞美总让人耞起来舒服。在加国交朋友, 不妨从“赞美别人”开始吧! 除了 "good"、 "great" 外, 你还可以用 "wonderful"、"fantastic"、"terrific" 等。

　　No kidding?不是讲笑呀?

　　A: I can finish two large pizzas in 10 minutes all by myself.

　　A: 我可以一个人十分钟内吃下二个大pizzas。

　　B: No kidding?

　　B: 不是讲笑呀?

　　这里的"No kidding?"也可说成"Are you serious?"、"Really?"、"Are you kidding me?" 之类的话。

　　into ... 热衷; 喜爱(人、事)

　　A: Hey, there\'s very good Chinese restaurant down the street. Would you like to go?

　　A: 嘿! 这里在过一点有一家很棒的中国餐厅! 你想不想去呢

　　B: Well, actually, I\'m not really into spicy food. Can we try something else?

　　B: 嗯...实际上, 我并不是很喜欢辣的食物。我们可以试试别的东西吗?

　　"into something" 是对某事“有兴趣”、 “喜欢”的意 思。好比 "I\'m into fishing lately." (我近来对钓鱼有兴趣。)

　　"spicy food" 就是的辛辣 (hot ) 的食物。加国人很多怕吃辣的东西。很多异国风味 (包括中餐) 到了加国都要?#123;整一下口味。原本较辣的东西, 都会改为所谓的“微辣”(mild)。

　　What are you up to? 最近忙什么啊?

　　A: I haven\'t seen you around lately. What are you up to?

　　A: 最近都没看到你。 忙什么呢?

　　B: I\'m working two jobs right now. It\'s killing me.

　　B: 我现在做二份工作。把我累死了!

　　"It\'s killing me." 是表示某事很折腾人的意思。如"Her singing is killing me." 她的歌声(很恐怖)简直要我的命!

　　You flatter me. 你过奖了!

　　A: Ron. I saw your art show last night, and I must let you know how amazed I was by your incredible accomplishments.

　　A: Ron, 我昨天参观了你的美术展。 我一定要告诉你我对你的卓越成就感到多么惊觃。

　　B: Oh, you flatter me.

　　B: 哎呀, 你真是过奖了!

　　加国人从不吝啬夸奖别人。他们夸赞的话, 也往往让人耞了飘飘然。我觉得他们这种能够欣赏别人优点的性格是一个很值得学习的。

　　alive and kicking 活得好好

　　A: How is your boyfriend doing?

　　A: 你的男朋友好不好啊?

　　B: Still alive and kicking. Thank you.

　　B: 他活得好好! 谢谢。

　　因为还能踢来踢去, 表示还很健康。

　　I got you. 我懂你(的意思)。

　　A: I don\'t get you. Your dad wanted to give you a house and you turned him down. What were you thinking?

　　A: 我真不懂你。你爸爸要给你一部保时捷, 你还拒绝他。你在想什么啊?

　　B: He can buy me a house but he can\'t buy me.

　　B: 他可以买车给我, 但他不能买我(的心)。

　　"I don\'t get you." 里的 "get" 是 "understand"(明白、了解) 的意思。

　　"turn down" 是“拒绝”的意思。

Beats me! 把我考倒了; 我也不懂

A: Do you know why a jerk like Peter gets all the pretty girls?

　　A: 你知道为何像 Peter 这种没人品的人的女朋友的都那么漂亮呢?

　　B: Beats me!

　　B: 把我考倒了; 我也不懂

　　"Beats me!" 是“我也不懂”的意思。

　　“我不懂”还可用"I have no idea."、"I can\'t understand. "I don\'t dig it."。

　　"jerk" 是“人品差”的人。

　　something like that 像...之类

　　A: Time for dessert?

　　A: 点心时间?

　　B: Yeah. Do we have icecream or something like that?

　　B: 嗯! 我们有没有 icecream 还是(icecream)之类的东西?

　　加国人甚喜欢饭后来点甜的东西。常常饭后就一句"Time for dessert?"。

　　"something like that" 是几好用的一个片语。好比有时候碰到我不是很肯定一个英文字的用法, 我会举个情况, 然后问朋友那样用对不对。如果我的答案够接近 , 对方常常会回答: "Yeah, something like that." (对! 差不多就是这样。)
