首先，要重视听力。
把练习听力置于每天的生活之中。注意，一定要坚持听。只有量的积累达到一定程度才会有质的飞跃。其实耳朵是需要练习的，如果每天都听，这样step by step，某一天你会发现你从此就爱上了英语听力。还有一点，最好定期选取一些材料，反复的精听，一遍又一遍，直到完全听懂为止。对于听力材料的选取，像VOA，BBC等广播都是很好的材料，简单一点的可以听CNN.在听的时候还可以进行跟读，他说一句，你就在三秒以内重复，只要能重复下来，就说明你听懂了。听力是需要每天都坚持的，一天都不能间断。因为耳朵这个东西，你一不用了，慢慢的就生疏了。
然后，克服听力走神。
有的同学说我听听力的时候总是开始的时候很有激情，可是听着听着就走神了。这样的同学一定要克服掉这个毛病，因为这样的话你即使听了三个月也像听了三天似的，没有太大的效果。要克服的话，你可以试着跟读，就算是隔句跟读也可以帮助你集中注意力。
在你的听力有了一定的基础之后，就可以选择适当的电影或者美剧来练听力了。
你可以选择一部你最喜欢的百看不厌的电影，反反复复的看，遇到听不懂的地方，拉回来重新听，如果听了五六遍你还没有听懂，那么可以挂上字幕看一下为什么没听懂，如果你看到没听懂的地方的单词你都认识，那么就说明人家再读的时候有吞音连音现象，解决这个问题的方法就是你自己也练习这样的读法，这样以后你就可以听懂了。
总之，语言能力的提高，绝对没有捷径，只有以勤为径，才可以切切实实的提高英语能力。
