　　abolishvt.废除，取消。一般用语。指用暴力或法律手段废除某中制度或风俗。

　　The exploiting classes and systems should be abolished over the world.应该消灭世界上的一切剥削阶级和剥削制度。

　　We must abolish such corrupt practices.我们应该废除这种陋习。

　　cancelvt. 取消，作废。指因某中原因临时取消实现决定了的事，如计划，会议等。

　　The sports meeting has been cancelled because of weather.因天气的原因运动会取消了。

　　We should write to Mr. Smith to cancel the lecture beforehand.我们应该事先写信给史密斯先生取消这次报告。
