　　Most people do not go to university.大多数人没有上大学。

　　Some say it is only the lucky ones who go there.有人说只有幸运者才能上大学。

　　Probably we all will agree that to go to university is special.也许，我们都认为能上大学是很特别的。

　　Have you heard of Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, Stanford?你听说过剑桥、牛津、哈佛以及斯坦福大学吗?

　　Some universities become world famous.有些大学是举世闻名的。

　　Universities often produce famous men and women.大学里可谓名人辈出。

　　They become leaders in politics, business, science and art.他们成为政治、商业、科学和艺术界的领导。

　　But university is not just about learning.但是大学不仅仅是学习。

　　It is here where people make life long friends.人们在这里结识了终生的朋友。

　　Whilst university, people make decisions that affect their whole lives.大学时代，人们作出的决定将影响他们的一生。

　　Universities produce medicines and science, technology and research that can benefit human kind.大学孕育了对人类有益的医药、科学和技术等各项科研活动。

　　Some universities are so big that they are like a whole town.有些大学大得像一座城。

　　We call this a campus.我们称之为大学城。

　　But not all universities are campus universities.但不是所有的大学都能是大学城的规模。

　　Some are spread around a city or a town and do not group everyone together in the same place.有些大学的校园并没有把每个人都集中在同一地点，而是分布在城镇的各个不同的地点。

　　Whichever they are, they all play an important part in the present and future of the world.无论在哪里，他们都将在现在和未来起到重要的作用。
