1. be at deaths door(to be nearly dead)

2. open the door to sth. (to allow sth new to start)

3. show sb the door(to tell someone that they must leave)

4. open doors(to give someone new opportunities)

5. on somebodys doorstep(very near to where you like)

6. close the door on sth(to make it impossible for sth to happen, esp. a plan or a solution to a problem)

7. get your foot in the door/get a leg in the door(to start working at a low level in an organizaion because you want a better job in the same orginization in the future)
