A Page from a Diary日记一则

　　Last night I had a dream. I met an old friend of mine, Xiao Qing. She was a good girl. She told me her stories about herself. She wanted to be a shop assistant when she grew up. But she had one shortcoming. She didnt like English . She thought that English was not helpful to shop assistant, so she often slept in English class.

　　One day, she was sleeping in English class. Little by little, she went off to dreamland. She dreamt that she had already grown up and was a shop assistant working in a big shop. At that moment, two Englishmen came up to her. But she only understood a few words. She did not know what they wanted. How disappointed they were!

　　When she was in trouble, another shop assistant came over. He spoke English very well. With his help, the two Englishmen bought what they needed and left with a smile on their faces.

　　The next day, the boss in the shop fired her, for she was very poor in English.

　　Suddenly, the bell rang and she woke up, she thought it over and slowly her face turned red. She understood that English was very important to a shop assistant.

　　Ever since then, she studied English very hard. Five years later, she became one of the best shop assistants in the shop for foreigners.
