　　11.几个日常话题

　　 1）谈论天气、气候

　　（1）What's the weather like today　

　　How's the weather today　

　　How is it today　

　　What a beautiful day！

　　Lovely day，isn't it　

　　Nice weather today，isn't it　

　　What season is it at the moment　

　　Which season do you like better，spring or winter　

　　[应答]Yes，isn't it　/It's getting warm（hot，cold）today./It's fine（windy，cloudy，rainy，snowy）today./We have nice（beautiful，rainy，etc.）weather today./Summer is often hot./I like spring better.

　　[注]谈天、聊天适用于初次与英美人接触,然后逐步进入正题,打开与外国人谈话的话匣子。

　　（2）The radio says the snow will stop later，in the day（the sun will come out later/there will be a strong wind to Beijing/the temperature will stay above zero in the daytime and at night it will fall below zero again）.

　　It seems to me it's going to rain.

　　Most of North and South China will have cold weather today.

　　[注]这是天气预报的常用语,说明某地的天气状况与温度情况。

　　2）就餐

　　Would you like some tea　/Would you like tea or coffee　/What would you like to have　/Help yourself to some fish，please./What would you like for dinner　

　　[应答]Yes，please./Yes，just a little./Yes，I'd like some./Tea，please./Either will be./Thank you./No，thanks just the same./No，thank you all the same./Thank you.I've had enough.

　　3）打电话

　　（1）打电话者常用语

　　Hello，may（can/could）I speak to...，please　/May I have a word with...　/Hello，is that...（speaking）　/Is that you，...　/Hello，is...in　/Who's that（speaking）　/Could you answer the telephone，please　/This is...，who's that　/Who's calling（speaking）　/Could you take a message　My I leave a message　

　　（2）接电话者常用语

　　This is...（speaking）./Hello...，there is a phone call for you./Hello，...，you're wanted on the phone./Sorry，he（she）isn't at home at the moment./He isn't in right now！/Wait a moment，please./Hold on，please./Can I take a message for you　

　　[注]①电话用语要避免使用:Hold the line，please./Hang on，please./Who are you　/Would you leave a message　/Are you speak-ing　/I'm.../I'm looking for.../Are you...　/My name is...

　　②汉语打电话一般不自报电话号码。英语打电话在接通后,接电话者常自报机构名称,如系私人住宅,则报电话号码。

　　③汉语打电话结束时一般不说谢谢来电,英语打电话一般都有Thank for your calling之类的客套话。

　　4）购物

　　（1）卖方用语

　　Can（May） I help you　/What can I do for you　/（Is there） Any-thing I can do for you　/How much do you want　/What color（size/kind）do you want　/Here you are./Here it is./Here they are./Here is the change.

　　（2）买方用语

　　I'd like.../I want.../I'd like to look for（look at）.../Could you show me...　/How much is it （are they）　/What's the price of...　/That's too much dear，I'm afraid./That's fine.I'll take it./The red one./I want Size 7./That's too expensive，I'm afraid.

　　5）问路

　　（1）问路人

　　Excuse me，where is...（which is the way to...，how can I get to...）　Excuse me，can you tell me the way to...（can/could/you show me how to get to...）　/Excuse me，but is there...near here　

　　（2）指路人

　　Walk along（down）this street./Turn right（left） at the second turning（crossing）./You'll see（find）it./It's quite near（far）./It's over there./It's about（over）200 metres（five kilometres） from here（along on the right）./I'm sorry I don't know.You'd better ask...

　　6）看病

　　（1）医生
