牛津实用英语语法:169 feel，look，smell和taste

　　A feel

　　如 feel后面跟表示主语的感情或身体或精神状况的形容词(例如angry/pleased，happy/sad，hot/cold，tense/relaxed， nervous/confident)时，它通常用一般时态，但也可用进行时态：

　　How do you feel/are you feeling?

　　I feel/am feeling better.

　　你感觉怎么样了?

　　我觉得好点了。

　　feel可表示触摸(以便了解某种情况)。这时可用各种进行时态：

　　The doctor was feeling her pulse。

　　医生正在为她号脉。

　　同样，feel for意为摸索着寻找时，可用进行时态：

　　He was feeling for the keyhole in the dark.

　　他摸黑找钥匙孔。

　　但feel意为感觉时不能用进行时态：

　　Dont you feel the house shaking?

　　你没感觉到房子在摇晃吗?

　　feel意为想时，不用进行时态：

　　I feel you are wrong.

　　我想你错了。

　　feel作连系动词时，也没有进行时态：

　　The water feels cold.

　　这水(摸上去)很凉。

　　B look

　　look 作连系动词用时不能用进行时态，例如 That cake looks good(那点心看上去很好)。 look on(=consider)， look up to (=respect)或look down on(=despise)也不能用进行时态。(参见第三十八章。)

　　但 look(at)， look for/in/into/out 和 look on(=watch)表示有意识的主动行为，可用各种进行时态：

　　He is looking for his glasses.

　　他正在找他的眼镜呢。

　　Im looking out for a better job.

　　我在找一份更好的工作。

　　C smell

　　smell表示察觉到气味的意思时，不能用进行时态，如I smell gas(我闻到了煤气味)。smell作连系动词(表示有的味道)时也不能用进行时态。但smell意为(用鼻子)嗅时，时则可用进行时态：

　　Why are you smelling the milk?Does it smell sour?

　　你为什么在闻牛奶?是不是有酸味了?

　　D taste

　　taste作连系动词时，不能用进行时态：

　　This coffee tastes bitter.

　　这种咖啡味道苦。(尝起来味道苦了一点。)

　　但taste意为品尝味道时可用进行时态：

　　She was tasting the pudding to see if it was sweet enough.

　　她在尝布丁的甜味是否够了。
