中考单词易错点解析：Accept and Except

　　Accept

　　to hold something as true 认为/相信某事是真实的

　　1. I dont accept his version of events.

　　我不相信他对事件的说法。

　　2. I accept she may have been tired, but thats still no excuse.

　　我相信她也许是累了，但是那并不能成为理由。

　　to receive something willingly 乐意接受某事/某物

　　1. I accept this award on behalf of the whole cast.

　　我很荣幸代表全体演员接受这个奖项。

　　2. Please accept my resignation.

　　请您接受我的辞呈。

　　Except

　　as a preposition it means apart from except作为介词，是除之外

　　1. I can resist everything except temptation.

　　除了诱惑，我可以抵挡一切。

　　2. We work everyday except Sunday.

　　除了星期天，我们每天都在工作。

　　as a conjunction it means if not the fact that except作为连词，意思是若不是

　　1. I would go swimming, except I am scared of big fish.

　　若不是我害怕大鱼的话，我会去游泳的。

　　2. I would buy the skirt, except that it cost too much.

　　若不是价格太贵的话，我就会买下那条裙子。

　　【注意】

　　accept 和except发音相似，拼写相似，在实际运用过程中，很容易混淆。应注意accept是动词，except可以作介词、连词以及动词，其中作为介词出现的情况最为常见。
