　　Describe an important historical place. You should say:

　　What it is.

　　Where it is.

　　Why it is important.

　　First of all, let me say, I am sure you will find my talk interesting and informative.

　　a) If I had to describe an important historic place, I would choose

　　Beiling Park in the city of Shen Yang.

　　b) I am not sure if you have heard of it before.

　　a) It consists of vast gardens and lakes, and it also houses the tomb of

　　an emperor from the Qing Dynasty.

　　b) That is to say, it is not just an historical site, but also a beautiful and peaceful place, and always-worthwhile visiting.

　　a) It is situated in the north of the city, and can be reached easily from

　　the city center as well as from the university.

　　b) For example, there is a bus stop in front of the main entrance to the

　　Park.

　　There are several reasons as for why I would like to talk about Beiling Park as an historic place. Allow me to explain by mentioning some of them briefly.

　　a) First of all, I believe history is important to any family, city, or nation. In other words, we should know where we come from.

　　b) What I mean to say, is that Beiling Park houses many historical

　　buildings like the tomb of an emperor from the Qing Dynasty that remind us of where our roots are.

　　a) Secondly, historic places are a useful tool in the education of our

　　children.

　　b) For instance, we can take them to visit the Park and explain to them

　　what it consists of. They are then able to experience the place

　　first hand which will make a lasting impression on them. I believe

　　this is much better than taking them to some boring museum.

　　6. So, those were some thoughts on one of my favorite historic places.
