Some people believe that some unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school programs. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

上面讨论过类似题目，如果是必修课required/compulsory courses，学校和社区执行起来可能有困难，作为选修课selective/optional courses比较好。事实上，加拿大的高中已经实行必修的40小时义工课，比如看小孩baby sitting，或者看护老人care for the old，或者是在慈善机构工作work in charities，而且是申请大学的条件之一。虽然社区服务在时间甚至经济上都有投入，但是能接触到各个年龄层次的人，对学生而言是一笔宝贵的人生财富。
