脸书打压“仇恨言论”

近日，Facebook在欧洲推出了一项新的举措，即在线上和线下同时展开仇恨言论和极端内容的打压行动--Online Civil Courage Initiative(OCCI)。据悉，Facebook已经承诺为OCCI提供100多万欧元的资金。

Hate speech has no place on the Internet, Facebook says. Specifically, the social network on Monday helped launch the Online Civil Courage Initiative, a new, million-euro effort designed to stamp out hate speech and extremism on the Internet in Europe.

Facebook表示，仇恨言论在互联网上将不再有容身之地。1月18日，Facebook帮助推出百万欧元支持的“线上公民勇气倡议”(OCCI)，打击欧洲网络上的仇恨言论和极端内容。

“网络仇恨”，说到底就是在网络上传播仇恨。随着欧洲难民危机（refugee crisis）的到来，网络极端主义（online extremism）达到新高潮（reach new heights）。去年12月，Facebook、谷歌和推特同意携手应对网络种族歧视（online racism），并在24小时内删除其网站上的仇恨言论（hate speech）。

Facebook在官网上介绍称，OCCI的使命是“打击网络极端主义与仇恨言论（to combat online extremism and hate speech）”，并通过与政界、公民社区及学界的共同合作，推广已存在于Facebook社区的公民勇气（civil courage）。

据悉，OCCI将通过向欧洲正在为消除网络极端主义和仇恨言论而努力着的非政府机构（non-governmental organizations）提供资金资助和营销协助，此外，它还将跟这些组织展开新的项目合作。
