国产动画影片《小门神》定档元旦上映

Little Door Gods, an animation film about Chinesecelestial beings, will be screened across the nation onNew Year's Day next year.

The film by Light Chaser Animation will follow thejourney of two door gods in a contemporaryChinese town where traditions and folklore are slowlyvanishing. Traditionally, the gods' images are pastedon front doors and worshiped in the hope that theywill protect each household.

《小门神》是由追光动画精心制作的动画电影，主要讲述的是现代城镇的两个门神为挽救逐渐消失的传统而进行的一段旅程。根据传统习俗，门神的图像会被粘贴在大门上。因为他们会保护每个庭院，所以深受百姓的崇敬。

"The story beckoned to me when I visited Bangkok and saw two ancient statues erected in aglamorous environment. They don't go together," Wang Wei, the director, said yesterday inBeijing.

"So I wanted to find out through this film about the value of the ancient gods today," Wangsaid. The 100-minute film will feature the voices of Chinese stars including Gao Xiaosong andBai Ke. It will also be available overseas.

"We wanted to create something for everyone. We had English and Chinese scripts from thestart," Yu Zhou, the film's producer, told China Daily.

"The story is about meeting challenges and showing one's courage. These are universalthemes that we believe domestic and overseas audiences will love," Yu said.
