台胞来往大陆将获免签

The Chinese mainland plans to drop the entrypermit requirement for Taiwan residents visiting themainland, top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng saidSunday. Yu made the announcement at the StraitsForum in Xiamen, Fujian, as he promised to createbetter conditions for cross-Straits exchanges.

全国政协主席俞正声14日在福建厦门的海峡论坛上表示，将对台胞来往大陆免予签注，进一步为两岸同胞交流创造更好的条件。

Taibaozheng, a passport-like document that carries the entry permits for Taiwan residents, willbe made into a card, Yu said.

俞正声还表示，将适时实行卡式台胞证

The document serves as the certificate of identity during Taiwan residents' stay on themainland.

台胞证是台湾地区居民往来大陆所持有的身份证件。
