As the society becomes more dynamic andinformation hungry, problems such as getting an IDcard outside of one's hometown and the lack ofaccess of reporting the loss of and invalidating one'sID card are becoming more prominent.

随着社会动态化、信息化的快速发展，群众异地办证难、丢失居民身份证挂失注销缺乏渠道等问题也日益突出。

China will establish an inter-province system of granting, reporting the loss of and claiming alost ID card, said Public Security Minister Guo Shengkun on Monday. The system will make iteasier for residents to apply for an ID card and create a more secure environment for the useof ID cards.

公安部部长郭声琨8日表示，要建立居民身份证异地受理、挂失申报和丢失招领制度，为群众办理居民身份证提供更多便利，为居民身份证的社会应用创造更安全的环境。
