The city of Paris will start removing padlocks from thePont des Arts on June 1, effectively ending thetourist tradition of attaching "love locks" to thebridge.

6月1日起，巴黎将开始拆除艺术桥上的挂锁，有效终止游客们在桥上悬挂"爱情锁"的传统。

For years, visitors have been attaching locks to thebridge in symbolic acts of affection.

Some further seal the deal by throwing keys into the Seine River below.

The phenomenon spread to other bridges, creating two major concerns: degradation ofproperty heritage and a risk to the safety of visitors.
