故事简介：Scrooge was a hard，clever，mean old man. There was nothing warm or open about him.He lived a secretive，lonely life，and took no interest in other people at all.On Christmas Eve, his business partner’s ghost, Marley, died seven years ago, visited him and took him to the past, current and future. 场景1

( In Scrooge's office. Bob tries to warm his hands over the candle.) Scrooge: What are you doing there, Bob?

Bob: I'm warming my hands, Mr. Scrooge. It's so cold here.

Scrooge: Am I paying you 15 shillings a week for warming your hands?

Bob: I'm freezing, Mr. Scrooge. Frost stands on the windows. My hands are too cold to write. I

can't even read my own handwriting.

Scrooge: Too cold to write? Humbug! If you were working harder, you wouldn't be cold. Just put

on your overcoat. If I hear another word from you, you will go where it is really cold.

Bob: Excuse me, Mr. Scrooge, eh ... tomorrow it's Christmas. Scrooge: So what? You'll want all day off tomorrow, I suppose? Bob: If quite convenient, sir.

Scrooge: It's not convenient, and it's not fair. I have to pay you a whole day's wages for no work

at all.

Bob: It's only Christmas once a year, Mr. Scrooge.

Fred: A Merry Christmas, Uncle! (朝着Bob)God save you! Scrooge: Bah! Humbug!

Fred: Christmas a humbug, Uncle? You don't mean that.

Scrooge: I do. Why do you call it ‘merry’ Christmas?You're poor enough。

Fred: What right have you to be so dismal? You’re rich enough. Scrooge: Bah! Humbug! Fred: Don’t be cross, Uncle.

Scrooge: What else can I be when I live in such a world of fools as this? Merry Christmas? A time

for finding yourself a year older and not a dollar richer.

Fred:(大声地)Uncle!

Scrooge:(打断Fred)Nephew, Keep Christmas in your own way and let me keep it in mine. Fred: Keep it? But you don’t keep it! Uncle!Please don't say that!I've always thought of

Christmas as a time to be helpful and kind to other People.It's the only time of the year when men and women open their hearts freely to each other.And so，uncle， although I've never made any money from it，I think Christmas has been and will be a good time for me!And I say，God bless Christmas!

(Bob 鼓掌)

Scrooge: (指着Bob，Bob停止鼓掌，继续工作)Stop that foolish clapping! Let me hear another

sound from you, and you'll celebrate Christmas by losing your position!(朝着侄儿)You’re quite a powerful speaker,sir.A wonder on don’t go into Parliament.

Fred: Don’t be cross, Uncle.Come, dine with us tomorrow. Scrooge: I’ll see you in hell first. Good afternoon! Fred: Uncle! Well ,we will waiting for you tomorrow!

Scrooge: Good afternoon!!!(朝着Gentleman)Who are you? Fred:(朝着Bob)A Merry Christmas.(下台)

(A gentleman comes in.)

Gentleman：Have I the pleasure of addressing Mr. Scrooge or Mr. Marley?

Scrooge: Mr. Marley has been dead these seven years, (小有停顿) this very night.

Gentleman：At this festive season of the year, Mr. Scrooge, it is more than usually desirable that

we should make some slight provision for the poor and the destitute. Many thousand s are in want of common comfort, sir.

Scrooge: Are there no prisons?

Gentleman：Prisons?Yes, yes, plenty of prisons.

Scrooge: And the union workhouses are they still in operation? Gentleman：They are. I wish I could say they were not. Scrooge: Good. Then what do you want to do?

Gentleman：This festive season, a few of us are endeavoring to raise a fund to buy the poor some

meat and drink and means of warmth. What shall we put you down for?

Scrooge: Nothing!I don't have a merry Christmas myself，and I won't pay for other people to be

merry.We all have to pay for prisons and workhouses—they cost enough.The poor will have to go there

Gentleman：Many can't go there，and many prefer to die. Scrooge: If they prefer to die，why don't they die，then?There are too many people in the world!

(Bob同情地看着Gentleman)

Gentleman：(双手摊开，朝着Bob，很悲伤地)A Merry Christmas!(下台)

场景一

(In Scrooge’s house)

Marley：(轻飘飘的声音，有气无力地) In life I was your partner，Jacob Marley. Scrooge: (假装镇定，大声地)It's humbug，I tell you!

突然一阵更恐怖的声音响起，Marley张牙舞爪，Scrooge被吓得瑟瑟发抖

Marley：The spirit of every man who does not help other people in life has to travel endlessly

through the world after his death.We have to carry the chains that we made for ourselves in our lifetime.Do you，Ebenezer Scrooge，recognize my chain?It is very like the one that you wear!

Scrooge: Why?Tell me why do you come here?

Marley：I am here for your own good. I am here to help you change your life!Follow me! Now I

will take you to your past.

(音效;飞走的声音) 场景二

一大群人在狂欢庆祝圣诞节, 年轻的Scrooge一个人在一边忧伤地徘徊，羡慕地看着他们 Scrooge:(很茫然地)Where am I?(四处看看，指着年轻时候的自己)Oh，it was me when I

Fan: Yes, home! Father is so much kinder than he used to be. He spoke so gently to me one night.

I was not afraid to ask him if you might come home. Young Scrooge: Then what he said?

Fan: He said yes. And he sent me in a coach to fetch you. And we’re to be together all the

Christmas long. And to have the merriest time in all the world! Young Scrooge: You’re quite a woman, little Fan.

Scrooge:(哭泣状)She had a large heart. Marley：But she died a woman,.

Scrooge: How I desired for Christmas .Poor boy!(停顿一会儿)I wish—but it's too late now.(摇

摇头，叹息) There was a boy singing Christmas carols at my door yesterday.I'm sorry I didn't give him anything.(抓住Marley)I can't watch any more!It's too awful!

Marley：OK.I will show you the other Christmas . (音效：飞走)

第三场 现在

(Bob’ house，一家三口人正坐在餐桌前分享圣诞晚餐，其乐融融)

Scrooge: It’s Bob’s house. (羡慕地)What a happy family!

Daughter：(指着布丁)Mom, I want the pudding any more. It tastes wonderful. Wife: Oh，my honey, you can eat more next year.

Bob: It's your greatest success in all the years that we've been married，my dear! Wife: (幸福地)Well，I did wonder how much fruit to put in it. But, yes,it's a good one.The next

year, I will make a bigger one.

Bob：(作举杯状)A merry Christmas to us all， my dears! God bless us!Let's drink to Mr

Scrooge, whose money has paid for this meal.. Daughter: Oh,no.

Wife: (angrily)His money!What can we buy with his fifteen shillings a week? Why should we

drink to the health of a hateful，hard，unfeeling，mean old man like Scrooge? Daughter: (不悦地)He is a bad man. Bob：My dear, remember it's Christmas.

Wife: (举杯)Well，Bob， I'll drink to his health only because of you and because it's

Christmas.Long life to Mr. Scrooge!A merry Christmas and a happy new year to him! He'll be very merry and very happy，I'm sure!

Daughter：(不情愿地，举杯)A merry Christmas. God bless us every one!

Marley：(看着那一家三口)In your nephew’s house , they pray for you as well. Scrooge:(忏悔状)I know.

Marley：There is no more time. Then I’ll show you the shadows of the things which haven't

happened yet， but will happen in the future. I hope it can help you to change your life.

Scrooge: But…… (飞走)

第四场 未来

Scrooge(上台，东张西望): Marley! (Tow women are coming)

Woman A: Well! The old man has died at last. How poor， to die with no friends or family

around him! To lie in an empty room，with no candles or flowers!But who cares. Oh, What's he done with his money?

Woman B: I haven't heard， He hasn't left it to me， that's all I know.

(WB拿起胸前戴的项链)

Woman B: Beautiful, isnt’t it? I don't care if everybody knows where this comes from!

We all have to take care of ourselves! He always did!

Woman A: Exactly true.

Woman B: Does a dead man need these things? And why was he so mean when he was alive?

We all worked for him，didn't we? Cleaned his house，washed his clothes，cooked his soup? And what did we get?Three shillings a week!It's no surprise that he died alone， with no friends around him!

Woman A: You never spoke a truer word. He was a bad man，we all know that. Look at this

shirt, it was his best. They put it on him after he died.But he doesn't need it now that he's dead!

Woman B: You took the shirt off a dead body, while he was lying there!Well, well, he will

crawl out from the grave.

Woman A: He frightened everyone away when he was alive，and only to profit us now that he's

dead!Hahaha…

(两个女人大笑着下场)

Scrooge: The man they are talking about is me ,right? No，Marley! Oh， no，no!(悲伤中，

一会后) Marley，I will be good to other people , keep Christmas in my heart and try to be kind, and cheerful，and merry，every day. Marley，my friend, tell me that my future will change，if I change my life now!

Marley:Just do you want to.Every thing will be better.

第五场 End

(In Scrooge’ house) Scrooge：(wake up suddenly，look around)still here? I’m still here.(大笑).(欢快地大喊)I’m still

here!I don’t’t know what to do.I’ve heard that laugh before.I will remember the past，and think of the future，(jumped out of bed) God bless you，Jacob Marley!And God bless Christmas!(towards to students) I don't know what I'm doing!A merry Christmas to everybody!A happy new year to all the world!

(绅士从一边经过上台) Scrooge：(转头看见，激动地握住绅士双手)My dear sir，how do you do?I hope you succeeded

yesterday. A merry Christmas to you,sir!

Gentleman：Mr. Scrooge?

Scrooge：Yes， that's my name,and I fear it may not be pleasant to you.But allow me to ask your

pardon..And will you hauv the goodness……(悄悄话)

Gentleman：(大喜)Lord bless me!My dear Mr. Scrooge, are you serious?

Scrooge：And not a farthing less.Will you come and see me tomorrow about it? Gentleman：(cried happily)I will!I don’t know what to say to such……

Scrooge：Thank you，and God bless you!Now I must go to my nephew's house. Good bye; Gentleman：A merry Christmas!Good bye(依依不舍，下台) (Scrooge 往前走两步，敲门)

Fred：(开门，惊喜状)Uncle???(手中拿的杯子掉了)

Scrooge：I've (小停顿)…….come to dinner.Will you let me stay，Fred? Fred：Of course, Uncle! Welcome! Welcome! Merry Christmas.. Loot at our table. Turkey,……so much food. We will have a wonderful dinner. (Bob上台，敲门)

Fred：Uncle，please wait for a minute. Let me see who it is.(开门)( 朝着叔叔)Oh，it’s Bob.(朝

着Bob)

Bob: Merry Christmas!

Fred: Merry Christmas! Come in, please!

Bob:(看着Scrooge，很局促)I……I don’t know you would be here. I just, just……

Scrooge：(上前，拥抱Bob)A merry Christmas，Bob!A merrier Christmas，Bob，than I've

given you for a long time.I'm going to pay you well. Now let’s have dinner together in the special day. (朝着同学们)God bless us，every one!
