A: Say I heard you went to the Comedy Club last night. How was it?
B: Well, he doesn’t knock them in the aisles, but he rates a laugh or two.
A: So it’s worth paying the cover charge. I heard it was a scream.
B: Oh, not the main act, but the guy who comes on first is a crack-up.

【语言点精讲】

knock them in the aisles: aisles指的是过道。这是一个用来形容某人知道如何逗听众笑的褒义的短语。sb.通常用us或them.
rate a laugh or two:用来形容某人或某事很搞笑，但是语气不是很强烈。rate在这里的意思是“值得。
cover charge: （俱乐部、饭店、酒吧等）服务费。
a scream: 指笑得非常厉害，形容某人或某事非常逗乐。
act: （戏剧的）幕。
come on: 出场，上场。
crack-up: 用作名词，指因人开怀大笑的人或事。
