B: He’s right. It’s not you, but people don’t go for the same jokes any longer. And your comedy routine has become old hat.
A: Yes, it feels like I’m singing the same old song every time. I need a change.
B: Yes, well that song is enough to put someone to sleep.

【语言点精讲】
wet blanket: 给别人泼冷水的人,扫兴的人。通常不用来形容自己。
point out: 指出。
go for: 选择,宁要。
routine: 经常表演的固定节目。
old hat: 老式的,陈旧的,过时的。
sing the same old song: 形容某事经常被重复,以至于无聊。
enough to put someone to sleep: 形容某事极其无聊,足以使人入睡。
