A: I’m scared to talk to our new boss. Have you met him yet?
B: Yeah. Don’t be scared at all. He is really nice. He is a real pussycat.

A: 我不敢和新老板说话。你见过他吗？
B: 见过，没什么可怕的。他人很好，很有人缘。

【迷你小对话2】

A: The French are not a civilized people.
B: I disagree! You are totally wrong! In terms of law, schooling, eating, family life, and all the rest, the French share all the manners and habits of any modern country. They are a civilized people!

A: 法国人还没有开化呢。
B: 我不同意，你完全错了！在法律、教育、饮食、家庭生活等各个方面，法国和其他任何现代国家一样拥有良好的规矩和习惯。法国人是很文明的。

be scared to do: 害怕做某事；不敢做某事。
pussycat: 形容人温柔亲切，好相处。
civilized: 文明的；有教养的；有礼貌的。
in terms of: 在……方面；从……方面来说。
share: 分享。
manner: 风度，礼貌。常用作复数。
