have ice in one’s veins: 字面意思是说在某人的血管里有冰雪。这个短语用来形容某人冷酷无情,或者个性强硬,仿佛血管里充满的是冷冰冰的冰雪,而不是温暖的血液。
get nervous: (变得)紧张。
no matter: 无论;不管;不论如何。
as cool as a cucumber: 形容人是极其镇定的,非常冷静的,情绪不会受到周围环境的影响。cucumber,黄瓜。黄瓜在西方通常是冷吃的蔬菜,并且由于它的颜色是冷色调的绿色,因此cucumber被用来形容冷酷、镇定的性格。
