Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch and wife Sophie Hunter welcomed their first child in June, foreign media reported.

A spokesman for the couple said: "Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son."

The news means it is a double celebration for the British actor who has been named a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.

The couple married on Valentine's Day 2017 on the Isle of Wight in England.
