　　不幸遇难的游客除了9名香港人之外，还有4名日本人、2名英国人、2名法国人和1名埃及人。在三名伤者中，一名英国游客和埃及驾驶员因头部受伤和烧伤，目前已被运往首都开罗接受救治，另一名英国游客在被送往卢克索当地医院后因伤势过重不治身亡。

　　中国驻埃大使馆成立工作组 香港派专人赴埃

　　事故发生后，中国驻埃及大使馆立即成立以宋爱国大使领导的事故处理工作组。工作组人员当天赶赴卢克索处理9名遇难中国香港游客善后事宜。

　　香港特别行政区行政长官梁振英高度重视，对香港游客在埃及参加热气球活动时遭遇不幸表示十分难过，要求有关部门组成工作组到当地处理好善后工作，香港入境事务处很快组成工作小组，搭乘卡塔尔航空公司的航班飞往当地为遇难人员办理相关的返港手续。
