北平凝固的八月

Frozen August in Peiping

永济河呜咽似的

The Yongji River whimpers

流过死沉沉的街巷

Through the dead streets

忧郁的眼睛

Melancholy eyes

凝望窗外铅灰色的天空

Staring out of the window at the leaden sky

那里，日寇的刺刀

There, Japanese bayonets

闪烁着寒光

Flashing cold light

穿透了一个又一个

Through one after another

血色黄昏

Scarlet Nightfall

笔散落在地疲惫的手

Pen scattered on the ground, tired hands

缓缓地合拢胸前

Slowly close your chest

在远处的钟声里

In the distant bell

默默为多难的华夏祈祷

Silently pray for the difficult Chinese

砰！

Bang!

一声令人心悸的枪响

A terrifying shot

天空骤然抽搐

The sky jerked

惨白的弧线坠落

Falling in a pale arc

长城脚下

At the foot of the Great Wall

增添一道罪恶的血痕

Add a blood stain of sin

心在下沉

The heart is sinking.

那个因放飞白鸽

Because of releasing pigeons

倒在枪口下的孩子

A child who fell under the gun

大睁着

Wide open

一对善良天真的眼睛

A pair of kind and innocent eyes

那清澈的瞳仁里

In the clear pupil

正映着一只白鸽飞向蓝天的身影

A white dove flying into the blue sky

如今在斯德哥尔摩

Now in Stockholm

和平奖的领奖台上

On the podium of the peace prize

纪念世界和平日的大会上

At the General Assembly commemorating world peace day

当人们把成千上万只白鸽

When people put thousands of pigeons

抛向蓝天时

When throwing into the blue sky

是否还记得那个

Do you remember that

因放飞白鸽而倒下的孩子

A child who fell for releasing pigeons
