7月1日，庆祝中国共产党成立95周年大会在北京人民大会堂隆重举行。国家主席习近平在大会上发表了重要讲话。他在讲话中屡次提到了“不忘初心”，那么“不忘初心”如何用英语来表达呢？

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Friday called on his comrades to "stay true to the mission" taken up by the CPC 95 years ago.

中共中央总书记习近平上周五号召同志们“不忘初心”，不要忘记中国共产党95年前成立之时的最初使命。

在新华社的版本中，“不忘初心”被那么，习主席在这篇讲话中的“不忘初心”包括哪些内涵呢？

首先，是永远保持建党时中国共产党人的奋斗精神，永远保持对人民的赤子之心(uphold the fighting spirit of the Party's founding members and their commitment to the people)。

其次，是坚持马克思主义的指导地位。马克思主义是我们立党立国的根本指导思想。背离或放弃马克思主义，我们党就会失去灵魂、迷失方向(If we deviated from or abandoned Marxism -- the fundamental guiding theory for both the Party and the country -- our Party would lose its soul and direction)。

第三，是坚定共产主义远大理想和中国特色社会主义共同理想。我们要建设的是中国特色社会主义，而不是其他什么主义(what we are building is socialism with Chinese characteristics, not some other –ism)。
