LONDON, June 19 -- A vehicle struck pedestrians on a road in north London, leaving a number of casualties, and one suspect has been arrested, police said on Monday.

A van rammed into a crowd of people in the Finsbury Park area in north London, local media reported.

"There are a number of casualties being worked on at the scene. There has been one person arrested," police said in a statement.

The London Ambulance Service was responding to the incident, reports said.
