国际英语资讯:Pompeo speaks over phone with Saudi FM about ties

WASHINGTON, Nov. 4 -- U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke over the phone with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Monday about the bilateral ties.

Pompeo congratulated Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on his new appointment, U.S. State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus said in a statement.

Pompeo and his Saudi counterpart reiterated that they look forward to working together to "continue building upon the strong strategic partnership between the United States and Saudi Arabia," the statement added.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud was appointed as the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia on Oct. 23.
