BEIJING, Aug. 22 -- China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng Tuesday asked Chinese experts at home and abroad to offer professional and constructive policy suggestions to help the country accomplish the building of a moderately prosperous society.

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, made the remarks while meeting members of a consultative committee with the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council.

Yu affirmed the important role of Chinese experts worldwide who have devoted themselves to the country's reform, opening up and modernization.

He said that the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation can not be completed without the wisdom of talented people.

Socialism with Chinese characteristics is currently entering a new phase which depends more on talent and innovation for economic and social development, Yu said.

He said that the establishment of the consultative committee is of great significance, as it will be a platform for Chinese experts at home and abroad to take part in the country's economic and social development and contribute their wisdom.

Yu asked them to combine international advanced technology with China's current situation to explore and innovate in order to benefit all Chinese people.

Members of the committee should also boost international scientific and technological cooperation, attract more talent to increase business in China, and carry forward Chinese culture, Yu said.
