阿里巴巴成立“达摩院” 三年将投千亿

10月11日上午，在2017杭州·云栖大会上，阿里巴巴集团正式宣布成立“达摩院”，进行基础科学和颠覆式技术创新研究。

10月11日，阿里巴巴集团宣布成立一个新的研究院“达摩院”，并计划在未来三年投资1000亿元进行高端技术研究。

The project includes opening seven new research labs in China, the United States, Russia, Israel and Singapore, recruiting related talents on top of its 25,000 engineers and scientists.

“达摩院”将在中国、美国、俄罗斯、以色列和新加坡开设七个新研究实验室，并在现有的25000名工程师和科学家的基础上招募相关领域的专业人才。

“达摩院”的英文名为the DAMO Academy,DAMO是Discovery（发现）、Adventure（探索）、Momentum（动力）和Outlook（愿景）四个词的词首字母缩写。

“达摩院”首批公布的研究领域包括：量子计算（quantum computing）、机器学习（machine learning）、基础算法（basic algorithms）、网络安全（network security）、视觉计算（visual computing）、自然语言处理（natural language processing）、人机自然交互（human-machine interaction）、芯片技术（chip technology）、传感器技术（sensor technology）、嵌入式系统（embedded system）等，涵盖机器智能、智联网、金融科技等多个产业领域。

“达摩院”实行院长负责制，由阿里巴巴集团 CTO 张建锋（花名行癫）担任首任院长，同时设置由全球科技领域顶尖人物组成的学术咨询委员会（global advisory board）。“达摩院”与阿里现有研发体系保持相对独立，建立新的机制以专注于中长期的技术研发。“达摩院”由三大主体组成，一是在全球建设的自主研究中心（independent research centers），二是与高校和研究机构建立的联合实验室（joint research labs），三是全球开放研究项目-阿里巴巴创新研究计划（Alibaba Innovative Research，AIR计划）。

张建锋表示，在金庸小说中，达摩院代表最高武学机构（the highest-ranking institution of martial arts）。我们也希望阿里巴巴达摩院真正做到“侠之大者、利国利民”（a real swordsman strives to serve the country and its people）。我们期望，下一个类似电和计算机的颠覆性技术创新，诞生在阿里巴巴达摩院。

阿里巴巴董事局主席马云对“达摩院”提出了三点期许：

1.“达摩院”要活得比阿里巴巴长（the academy must outlive Alibaba），有一天即使阿里巴巴不在了，达摩院还要继续存在。

2. “达摩院”要利用研发成果使阿里巴巴成为世界第五大经济体（build the group into the size of the world's fifth-largest economy），为世界解决一亿就业机会（create 100 million job opportunities around the world），服务跨国界的二十亿人（provide services to 2 billion people），为一千万家企业创造盈利的平台（offer profit-making platforms for 10 million enterprises）。

3. “达摩院”要考虑解决未来的问题（being future-oriented to solve the problems of the future）。
