ABIDJAN, Oct. 14 -- A plane with 10 people on board on Saturday morning crashed into the ocean shortly after taking off from an airport in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, airport sources said.

According to the sources, the cargo plane belongs to a company that carried equipment for the French army.

The plane crashed into the ocean not far from Abidjan airport, said the sources.
