国内英语资讯:Birth centenary of late senior political advisor commemorated

BEIJING, Oct. 21 -- A symposium was held in Beijing Monday to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of late senior political advisor Ma Man-kei.

Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, attended the symposium and met Ma's family and relatives before the event.

Ma was a famous patriot, an outstanding social activist, a leading figure of the business circle in Macao, a close friend to the CPC, and he served as vice chairman of the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th National Committee of the CPPCC.

Commemorating Ma's glorious life at the event, You Quan, a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, called for learning from Ma's patriotism, sense of duty to love Macao and his hometown, and eagerness to learn.
