国际英语资讯:Ibrahima Kassory Fofana appointed as Guineas prime minister

CONAKRY, May 21 -- President of the Republic of Guinea Alpha Conde on Monday named Ibrahima Kassory Fofana as prime minister and head of Guinean government, through a presidential decree published on national television broadcast news.

In another decree, Alpha Conde instructed the general secretaries of the ministerial departments to manage the day-to-day affairs of the ministries until the establishment of the new government.

Before being promoted to prime minister, Ibrahia Kassory Fofana was minister in charge of public investment and relations with the private sector.

President of the former political party GPT (Guinea for All), Kassory Fofana joined the government of President Alpha Conde in 2017 after a political alliance was established between his party and the ruling party RPG Rainbow.

Last Saturday, through another political alliance with the ruling party, he agreed to merge his party into the ruling RPG Rainbow, in order to become the prime minister.

Former Guinean Prime Minister Mamady Youla submitted the resignation of his government on Thursday, during the cabinet meeting chaired by President Alpha Conde.
