国际英语资讯:Cambodian FM to attend 74th session of UN General Assembly in New York

PHNOM PENH, Sept. 21 -- Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn will attend the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly and other meetings in New York from Sept. 24 to 28, said a foreign ministry's press release on Saturday.

Sokhonn, who is also the deputy prime minister, will deliver a statement focusing on Cambodia's socio-economic development and achievements on Millennium Development Goals and efforts towards the Sustainable Development Goals, the release said.

His statement will also underline the importance of the collective efforts to address climate change, terrorism, extremism and radicalism, and non-conventional security threats, it added.

"The new world order, multilateralism, roles of international law, negative impacts of fabricated news, and regional and international issues of common interest and concern will be also highlighted in the statement," the release said.

Sokhonn will also join the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, the Non-Aligned Movement meeting, the Least Developed Countries meeting, the Asia Cooperation Dialogue meeting, the Informal ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting, and the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting with the President of the 74th General Assembly and the UN Secretary-General, it said.

On the sidelines of the session, he will hold separately bilateral meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek, among others, the release added.
