国内英语资讯:China, Brazil to strengthen comprehensive strategic partnership

BRASILIA, Sept. 18 -- China and Brazil agreed to deepen comprehensive strategic partnership as senior Chinese legislator Cai Dafeng visited the Latin American country from Sunday to Wednesday at the invitation of the latter's lower house.

During his visit, Cai, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, met with Speaker of Brazilian Chamber of Deputies Rodrigo Maia and held the fourth meeting under the China-Brazil parliamentary exchange mechanism with Lidice da Mata, president on the Brazilian side of the mechanism.

Since the two countries established diplomatic ties 45 years ago, China and Brazil have upheld the principles of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, continued to deepen political mutual trust, promoted pragmatic cooperation and strengthened multilateral coordination, Cai said.

China's National People's Congress is willing to join hands with Brazil to maintain the momentum of close exchanges, build a favorable legal and policy environment, strengthen exchanges of experience in governance, and further consolidate and deepen China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership, Cai added.

The Brazilian side spoke highly of the great development achievements scored during the past seven decades since the establishment of the People's Republic of China as well as the comprehensive partnership between the two nations.

It also expressed its willingness to deepen cooperation with China in husbandry, infrastructure, technological innovation among other areas, and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between legislatures of both countries, so as to inject fresh vitality into bilateral ties.

Cai also visited University of Brasilia and its Confucius Institute.
