国际英语资讯:Chile, Colombia to meet in friendly

SANTIAGO, Sept. 17 (Xinhua ) -- Chile and Colombia will meet in a friendly next month as both teams prepare for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, the Chilean football association (ANFP) said on Tuesday.

The clash will be played at the Jose Rico Perez stadium in Alicante, Spain, on October 12.

"It will allow the national team to continue to get ready for the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar," ANFP said in a statement.

The South American rivals last met in the quarterfinal stage of the Copa America in June, when Chile prevailed on penalties in Sao Paulo.

The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) World Cup qualifying tournament will begin in March.
