AMMAN, Aug. 19 -- Germany's Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer on Monday stressed her country's support for the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The German minister made the remarks after a meeting with Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi in Amman, where she said the two-state solution represents a good foundation for the Palestinians and the Israelis to live together.
Safadi commended Germany's firm stance in supporting the two-state solution as the only way to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and thanked Kramp-Karrenbauer for her country's commitment to supporting the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.
The two sides also discussed the Syrian issue, stressing the need to bolster efforts to reach a political solution that maintains Syria's unity, restores its security and allows the voluntary return of refugees.
