Even for a mother as doting as Nancy Lanza, her son Adam demanded much of her attention, friends said Monday.

'She always just said it was hard as he was getting older,' Mr. Tambascio said.

Ms. Lanza would receive alimony of $240,000 a year, a figure set to grow to almost $300,000 a year by 2015, according to court papers.
