Prejudice From Different Areas 地域偏见

When I was very small, I have heard about a lot of rumors about the features of people from different areas. As I was from south part of China, so the north part was believed to be cold and people were rude. My mother and her friends always discussed the northern people. They said people there were tall and spoke in the loud way. But as I grew up and went to high school, I have met many friends who were from northern part. Most of them were polite and different from people's common idea. I realize prejudice exists in different areas, and the worse situation is that most people believe it. This is not true at all, and every place has good guys and bad guys. We should judge them according to the communication. As the development of media, the prejudice will decrease gradually.

在我很小的时候，我听说过很多关于来自不同地区的人特征的谣言。我来自中国南方，所以我觉得北方是寒冷的，那里的人很粗鲁。我妈妈和她的朋友们总是讨论北方人，她们说北方人长得高说话又大声。但是当我长大后，读高中时，我遇到许多朋友是来自北方的人，其中大部分是礼貌，和普遍的看法不一样。我意识到不同区域存在偏见，最糟糕的情况是，大多数人都相信这些偏见。这是不正确的，每个地方都有好人和坏人，我们应该从交往中判断。随着媒体的发展，偏见会逐渐减少。
