国际英语资讯:Hungarian president praises quality work at EuroSkills closing ceremony

BUDAPEST, Sept. 29 -- Hungarian President Janos Ader praised quality work in his speech at the closing ceremony of the EuroSkills 2018 Championship here on Saturday night.

"Precise, accurate, conscientious and effective work is needed everywhere in the world," Ader said.

"Be proud that you have knowledge that is competitive throughout the world," he said, turning to the competitors. "Every successful man in his profession shares one goal: wanting to become masters, wanting to learn everything from their profession that is possible."

Daniel Gerber, a Swiss electrician, became Europe's best skill worker. Most of the medals were won by Russian team, the second place came to team Austria and the third, France. The host Hungarian team was ranked fourth.

The awards have been attributed in the following categories: Information and Communication Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Construction and Building Technology, Transportation and Logistics, Social and Personal Services, and finally Creative Arts and Fashion.

EuroSkills is the European Championship of young professionals, a spectacular promotion of skills and latest skills developments around Europe. It is the European regional version of WorldSkills Competition, formerly known as "Skills Olympics".

The tournament is held every two years in one of the WorldSkills Europe member states. Europe's most talented young skilled professionals compete to be the best of the continent. Each country may enter one competitor or team per trade, and competitor may compete in one EuroSkills Competition only.
