WASHINGTON, Nov. 22 -- U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's administration will not further probe into his former Democratic rival Hillary Clinton over her private email server use, a top aide to Trump said Tuesday.
The new administration will also not open any investigation into foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation when Clinton was secretary of state in the Barak Obama administration, said the top aide.
On the campaign trail, Trump, the then Republican presidential nominee, vowed to launch further investigation of Clinton once he wins the White House.

"If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation," Trump told Clinton at the second presidential debate in early October.
"Look, I think he's thinking of many different things as he prepares to become the President of the United States, and things that sound like the campaign are not among them," Trump's former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said in an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
"I think when the President-elect, who's also the head of your party, tells you before he's even inaugurated that he doesn't wish to pursue these charges, it sends a very strong message, tone, and content" to fellow Republicans, said Conway.
Trump said in an interview with CBS after the election that prosecuting Clinton would not be a priority.
"I don't want to hurt them", he said of the Clinton family. "They're good people."
