gers need rules, which is often not a difficult thing for parents to give. What can be more challenging is giving teenagers their freedom. It can be difficult to draw the line between the two. However, some issues cannot be changed by discussion and require firm rules. For instance, rules should be established concerning driving the family car.
I will admit that I have no problem coming up with rules. To me they make life easier and they leave no room for questioning. What can be more difficult, however, is giving my teens their freedom.I guess there are really two primary reasons for this. One is that sometimes I am afraid to give them freedom. The second is that I'm not always so sure what the freedom should be.
It helps that I have a husband with whom I can discuss these problems. We talk about them,__give our thoughts and then we come up with an agreement.Sometimes one of us might be more unwilling but we know that there comes a time when we really do have to learn how to let go of the reins (缰绳) a bit.
(反抗).They need to know that while we do have certain expectations,
they do that unless they are given the space and room to do it?
It's really all about balance and I will be the first to admit that it can be a challenge to carry out. However, it is a necessary part of growing up.Yes, teens definitely need rules but they also need freedom.

strengthen our marriage,” she offered.“Each of us will write a list of the things that we find a bit annoying with the other person. Then, we can talk about how we can fix them together and make our lives happier together.”
The husband agreed. So each of them tried to think of the things that annoyed them about the other and wrote down what they came up with. The next morning, at the breakfast table, they decided that they would go over their lists.
“I'll start,” offered the wife. She took out her list.It had many items on it, enough to fill three pages. In fact, as she started reading the list of the little annoyances, she noticed that tears were starting to appear in her husband's eyes because he never thought that he had so many shortcomings.
The wife continued to read until she had read all three pages to her husband.“Now, you read your list and then we'll talk about the things on both of our lists,” she said happily.
Quietly the husband stated, “I don't have anything on my list.I think that you are perfect.I don't want you to change anything for me.You are lovely and wonderful and I wouldn't want to try and change anything about you.” The wife, touched by his honesty and the depth of his love for her and his acceptance of her, turned her head and wept.
In life, there are enough times when we are disappointed, depressed and annoyed. We don't really have to go looking for them.We have a wonderful world that is full of beauty, light and promise. Why waste time in this world looking for the bad, disappointing or annoying when we can look around us and see the wonderful things before us?

Re Why a Fallen Angel Is a Centerfold (Sunday Review,Nov.6):I first met Lindsay Lohan in 1997 when she was 11 and I was the casting director (挑选演员的人) of the film The Parent Trap.I was struck by her talent,
It is not for me to judge Ms Lohan's choices, or whether fame has been less than kind to her, but I have been greatly saddened by the way the media have chosen, with all gloves off and seemingly going with what could please them, to record her efforts and failures. She is a sentient (能感知事物的) human being,
Charles McGrath makes several attractive points in his news analysis about the public demand which is impossible to satisfy, in a 24/7 news cycle forever changed by the Internet, to gossip about, and give nearly complete access to, celebrity or famous persons' lives.Perhaps people do feel better knowing that wealth and fame do not lead to a perfect life for everyone.Perhaps we admire famous people only to reject them without any pity or mercy when their behavior disappoints us.
I find it ironic (讽刺的) that Ms Lohan's decision to pose for s of her and other famous people.
Perhaps when reporting on and reading about famous people who have lost their way, we will remember that those people are also very human people who, like us, make mistakes, endure misfortune and have a chance—in spite of media coverage—to begin a completely new life tomorrow.

My Third Year in Senior High School
verybody wants to get the best possible grades at school but how can this be achieved?
Firstly, I plan to keep a balance between study and relaxation. We are not a machine and if we fail to relax, eventually we will suffer from stress, which will harm our study.
Secondly, I am going to develop efficient study habits, such as taking notes properly, revising every day, planning the revision schedule and not leaving things until the last minute.
I think Senior 3 is tough but it can also be rewarding if we use our time effectively.Time is money so we use it wisely.
