  【山东省枣庄市滕州一中2017高考英语二模】阅读表达(满分15分)

The key word is practice! Practice, practice, practice!! There is no other way. There is no magic. The way to get better at listening to English is to listen to English. That’s the not-so-good news.

The good news is there are many ways to listen and many things to listen to.

Listening to English songs can be fun. But be careful! Most ________ use the language in a special way that you don’t hear every day. You don’t want to start speaking English like a poet or songwriter. If you do listen to English songs, listen to different ones. This will help you train your ears to different voices, pronunciations and rhythms.

If you can, get a copy of the lyrics(歌词) so you can read them and listen to them at the same time. It is sometimes better to listen with your eyes as well as your ears—more information to help the brain.

Watch English DVDs. But, this time, do not use your eyes to read the subtitles (字幕). Turn off the subtitles, because movies have so many other clues about what is happening that it is better not to use the subtitles. This forces your ears to do the work.

Choose one character (人物) that interests you and pay attention to what they say and how they say it. If you can, repeat a line out loud after they have said it. Teach yourself one or more sayings, phrases or ways of talking that you will use after watching the movie. A new and growing resource of English language for listening can be found in blogs. Blogs are in MP3 format and can be loaded first onto your computer and then onto your MP3 player for very convenient take-with-you listening.

You can find many English listening practices are fun, new, educational and in unending supply.

任务型读写(共10小题;每小题1分,满分10分) 阅读下面短文,根据所读内容在表格中的空白处填入恰当的单词。 注意:每个空格只填一个单词。 Good failures happen when, even though you made the correct decision, you still lost. Bad failures happen because you made bad decisions, or worse, didn’t make a decision at all. Although the two feel the same, they have a completely different long-term impact.

By separating the two types of failures, it is easier to persevere through good failures. It may hurt to have your business proposal shut down for the fifteenth time, but it isn’t necessarily a bad failure. You can also avoid more bad failures. If you fail because of laziness, indecision or poor planning, you can quickly correct those in the future.

I’ve found that there are several categories of good failures. Since they come from good, not bad, decisions, they are the best way to fail.

  1. High Upside, Low Downside

There are many areas of life where the upside is far greater than the downside. When I write an article, it takes about 90 minutes of work. If nobody responds to that post, then I’ve just wasted 90 minutes. However, if the article becomes popular, it can bring in thousands of visitors to my website. Those thousands of visitors translate into new readers who can get value from the website. In addition, it often results in a higher monthly income for me.

  2. Breaking through Your Limits

The only way to know your limits are to go past them. Occasionally I’ve committed myself to more work than I can handle. The result is stress. However, if not, you can never improve. You’ll always go slightly below your capacity, never reaching your possible potential. Occasionally facing an exhausting schedule ensures my productivity muscles stay strong.

  3. Taking on Too Big a Challenge

I’ve often set goals that were nearly impossible to accomplish. I didn’t have enough time to reach the deadline and I had no idea what I was doing. Although setting extremely difficult challenges results in a lot of failures, it keeps you sharp.

  Why failure can be good?

  (76)____ of good

failures and bad failures ● Good failures refer to those you faced even if you made a decision

  (77)_____.

  ● Bad failures happen because you made bad, worse or no decisions.

  ● Help us to avoid more bad failures.

Categories of good failures High Upside, Low Downside ● Remember the upside is far (81) ____ than the down side.

Break Through Your Limits ● (82) ____ past your limits is the only way to reach your possible potential and (83)

  ___ yourself.

  (84) ____ on Too Big a Challenge ● Although it (85) _____ to a lot of failures, it keeps you sharp.
