More over smart phone, the intelligent watch is about to take your spot as the latest hitech current, allowing wearers to glance at messages and even take calls without touching their phones. The i'm Watch, available since 2011, is the flagship product of an Italian company—i'm. This smart watch is an assist to the smart phone, with which it can communicate by Bluetooth wireless technology. It means you can leave your phone in your pocket as you answer or reject a call, review emails or read updates from friends on Twitter or Facebook.

The i'm Watch also has its own applications, such as i'm Sport, which links with a heart rate detector (检测器) to allow a runner to check his pulse. Such functions already exist in specialized sports watches but not on watches that are linked to smart phones.

With a square shape, a 3.8centimeter touch screen and various colors, the i'm Watch sells for a minimum of 300 Euros ($390) for the basic model and prices climb to 16 000 Euros for a luxury model in silver or decorated with diamonds.

So far, the watch has already found 30 000 buyers, 80 percent of whom are men aged 25 to 50. ?Seventy percent are iPhone users, 25 percent Samsung and the rest are other telephones using Google's Android operating system,” said Massimiliano Bertolini, a manager of the company, which aims to sell more than 200 000 watches this year. The company's target market is the person who is always glued to his smart phone, even in meetings or at the movies, or people who wish to keep an eye on their heartbeat during exercise. They will especially target women with advertisements emphasizing its design rather than its technology.

YA: Although people should face the consequences of their behaviors,

lives are the most valuable thing and should be respected and guaranteed. People don't have the chance to correct their errors and make a new start if their lives are taken away. Also,

it would be a disaster if the wrong persons

were given the death penalty (死刑).

YB: I support getting rid of the death penalty.Violence should never

meet with violence. Abolishing the death penalty could help people to realize the power of forgiveness and love. It could also get officials to focus more on preventing crimes instead of punishing the criminals after they have been committed.

YC: The goal of laws and penalties is not to punish criminals but to keep people from committing crimes. Corrective education would be much better than the death penalty,

as it could help people understand their crimes and feel sorry from the bottom of their hearts rather than just fear death.

NA:We need the death penalty. Those who do great harm to others and affect society badly are supposed to be punished seriously. They should be responsible for their behaviors. Without the death penalty,

some people might commit terrible crimes because they would no longer worry about losing their lives even if they take away others' lives though in fact they haven't the right to do so.

NB: Laws are different in different countries because of national conditions. Some developed countries that have abolished the death penalty have highly educated people and have few problems with their laws. Compared to them,

China still has a long way to go before it can abolish the death penalty.

  NC: For some severe crimes,

imprisonment (监禁) isn't enough to make sure there is social justice and to defend laws. The death penalty can achieve that. If we abolished it,

we would need to spend a lot of money on prisoners,

which would be a burden on society.

  1.According to YB,

the government should pay more attention to ________.

  A.abolishing the death penalty

  B.committing crimes

  C.punishing the criminals

  D.preventing crimes

  2.From the view of NA,

  without the death penalty,

  crimes might be ________.

  A.different B.the same

  C.more serious

  D.less and less

3.Which of the following is a reason to keep the death penalty?

A.Imprisonment isn't enough to defend laws.

B.Lives are the most valuable thing.

C.Violence should never be met with violence.

D.People should have the chance to correct their errors.

4.What can probably be the best title of this report?

  A.Abolish Death Penalty or Not?

  B.Can Death Penalty Achieve Justice?

  C.Should People Be Highly Educated?

  D.Should Violence Meet with Violence?

1.解析:选D 细节理解题根据第二段“It could also get officials to focus more on preventing crimes instead of ...(它也能够让官员们把注意力集中在预防犯罪而不是……)”可知选D解析:选C 细节理解题根据第四段“Without the death penalty, some people might commit terrible crimes ...(如果没有死刑有些人也许会犯更可怕的罪……)”可知选C解析:选A 细节理解题根据最后一段“For some severe crimes,

  imprisonment

isn't enough to make sure there is social justice and to defend laws. AI was sure that I was to be killed. I became terribly nervous. I fumbled(摸索) in my pockets to see if there were any cigarettes, which had escaped their search. I found one and because of my shaking hands, I could barely get it to my lips. But I had no matches; they had taken those. I looked through the bars at the guard. He did not make eye contact with me. I called out to him “Have you got a light?” He looked at me, shrugged and came over to light my cigarette. As he came close and lit the match, his eyes unconsciously locked with mine. At that moment, I smiled. I don't know why I did that. Perhaps it was nervousness; perhaps it was because, when you get very close, one to another, it is very hard not to smile. In any case, I smiled. In that instant, it was as though a spark jumped across the gap between our two hearts, our two human souls. I know he didn't want to, but my smile leaped through the bars and caused a smile on his lips, too. He lit my cigarette but stayed near, looking at me directly in the eyes and continuing to smile.

I kept smiling at him, now thinking of him as a person and not just a guard. “Do you have kids?” he asked. “Yes, here, here.” I took out my wallet and nervously fumbled for the pictures of my family. He, too, took out the pictures of his family and began to talk about his plans and hopes for them. My eyes filled with tears. I said that I feared that I'd never see my family again, never have the chance to see them grow up. Tears came to his eyes, too. Suddenly, without another word, he unlocked my cell and silently led me out. Out of the prison, quietly and by back routes, out of the town. There, at the edge of town, he released me. And without another word, he turned back toward the town.

A.Because he was sure he was to be killed.

B.Because he wanted to ease his nervousness.

C.Because he wanted to talk to the guard.

D.Because he was used to smoking cigarettes.

3.Which of the following is true according to the passage?

A.The man was a heavy smoker.

B.The man smiled to please the guard.

C.The guard set the man free with permission.

D.The man hadn't thought the guard would set him free.

At that moment, I smiled.

4.What do you think finally saved the man's life?

  A.The smile.B.The cigarette.

  C.The tears. D.The wallet.

The smile微笑;The cigarette香烟;The tears眼泪;The wallet票夹。 故选A。

(2016·江西省上饶市模拟)When I first learn to write in English, I ran into much difficulties. The main problem was that I always thought in Chinese and tried to translate into my own language everything which I came across while I was reading. My teacher advised myself to keep a diary. I followed his advices and put down 100 words or so each day.

Soon I began to enjoy talk to myself as I was learning to express myself with simple English. One day I wrote a story and showed to my teacher. He liked it very much that he read it to the class. All said that the story was
