　　【技能讲解】　状语用于修饰动词、形容词、副词或整个句子。可以作状语的有：副词、形容词、不定式、分词、介词短语、独立主格和从句。典例剖析

　　1.[2015·湖北高考]Thinking that his solution might be wrong, I carefully analyzed the problem and tried to work it out in_a_different_way.

　　[答案]　本句中使用了现在分词thinking, 副词carefully，介词短语in a different way，多种状语形式，使句子的表达更加准确。

　　2．[2015·湖南高考]I felt extremely nervous the_instant_the_class _began.

　　[答案]　本句使用了副词extremely“极其”修饰形容词nervous，又使用the instant“……的那一刻，一……就”引导的状语从句，为本句增添了色彩。

　　3．[2015·福建高考]The boy, being poor, couldn't afford even a candle, so_he_bored_a_hole_in_the_wall_to_“steal”_light_from_his_neighbor's_house_to_read_at_night.
