Many years agogland. The school had two classes for children of the same age.At the end of the school year an examination was held,in order to select the children for the classes of next year. However, the results of the exam were never made known. In secret, based on their performance in the exam, the higher-performing and lower-performing children were divided equally between the two classes.Only the headmaster and the psychologists knew the truth.Teachers for the next year were carefully selected for equal ability and experience.Even the classrooms were chosen with similar facilities (设备).Everything was made as equal as possible:one was called “Class Athe other,“Class B”.
In everyone's minds the children in Class A were the clever ones, and the kids in Class B were not so clever. Some of the parents of the Class A children were pleasantly surprised that their children had done so well and rewarded them with presents and praise, while the parents of some of the Class B kids complained that their children did not work hard enough and took away some of their rewards.Even the teachers taught the Class B kids in a different manner, not expecting so much from them. For a whole year the illusion existed. Then there was another end-of-year exam.
e results were not surprising. The children of Class A performed so much better than those of Class B.In fact

The findings show that some companies visited by more than one in ten Americans each month are primarily fast-food-retail outlets(直销店) and health clinics. The types of businesses these companies are in and the traffic customers use to get to them play a big part in their success.According to Placed Insights-thirds went to a fast-food restaurant at least once.
d Insights founder and CEO David Shim explains what it is that affects much on whether Americans visit a business once a year or once a week.“People often go out for fast food. They don't necessarily go shopping for a sweater every day,but they do eat.”
It should come as no surprise that most of these companies have made efforts to expand their products, with varying degrees of success.Walmart, for example, has expanded its business to offer groceries, and even has fast-food restaurants in many stores.Starbucks has expanded its menu options to include breakfast sandwiches and other meals.McDonald's new McCafe coffee brand has been very successful. These are all new services designed to make more money on existing customers, bring in new customers, and bring them in more often.
While the types of goods and services being offered by these companies are critical, the more critical factor is their dominant national presence. These companies have thousands of locations all over the country.Rare is the American town without a McDonald's,Burger King,Taco Bell,Subway,or some combination of the three.McDonald's has more than 14,000 locations in the U.S. in 2017 while Subway has more than 25,000.

阅读理解hey are roaring in celebration or screaming in frustration, researchers claimed. While people may believe they have the ability to read each other's faces, body language is the real clue that shows whether strong emotions someone is feeling are positive or negative.
In a study, groups of participants were shown a series of facial expressions such as tennis players photographed just after winning or losing a point.
In some cases the volunteers were able to see the player's full body, but in others they were only shown either their face or their body with the other removed.
Participants could clearly tell whether the players were winning or losing when they were shown the full picture or just the body, but their guesses were no better than chance when based on the face alone.
Those who were allowed to see the full image were convinced they had made their judgment based on the players' facial expressions even though results from the two other groups suggested otherwise.
The researchers carried out a second study where participants were shown a wider range of faces showing emotions including joy, pleasure, victory, pain and defeat.
Using photo-editing softwaree emotions they saw in the photos.
The resulting poses were like the body poses in the photographs but not the facial expressions, demonstrating that people base their interpretation of strong emotions not on the face but the body.
Dr Aviezer, who led the study, said,“These results show that when emotions become extremely intense, the difference between positive and negative facial expressions becomes unclear. The results may help researchers understand how our body interacts during emotional situations. For example, individuals may fail to recognize facial expressions, but if they are trained to process important body language, their performance may significantly improve.”

Kids can be taught valuable lessons on nature from the time they are old enough to observe their surroundings. With the help of a parentvailable opportunity to introduce them to plant life, beneficial insects, wildlife and more. These types of lessons are important.
One of the best ways to explore nature with a small child is on their level.Look for wild flowers, and point out their beautiful colors and patterns.Even a very small child can learn to recognize wild flowers. However,it is also important to teach a small child the importance of leaving nature untouched for others to enjoy.Leaving wild flowers alone will allow them to spread and continue their life cycle. They look beautiful in a vase, but they are even more lovely in their natural habitat.
The world in between blades (叶片) of grass and under the leaves of flowers is seldom seen by human beings. When looking for ways to explore nature with a small childthat life is valuable to every living creature.Kids that are taught to respect nature will grow to be more caring adults.
Plant life is also an important part of our environment, and it is fun to explore with a child of any age.Plant some vegetables or flower seeds when seeking additional ways to explore nature with a small child. If space is lacking, start a small container garden.Fill a pot with rich organic soil, and have the child help plant the seeds and care for the seedlings (幼苗) as they grow. Not only is it fun and educational
