Do you have a spare room in your house? Do you like to share your driveway in front of your garage with others? __1__ Many people are benefiting from this new business of renting.

Perhaps the bestknown example of a company in this field is Airbnb—an American web which allows you to rent out your spare room to holidaymakers. It says it operates in 34, 000 cities and it has 800, 000 listings of rooms and apartments. __2__

A British company is doing something with parking spaces. JustPark's founder, Anthony Eskenazi, says, “When I had the original idea, I spotted a driveway close to a sports stadium. It would have been so convenient if I could have just parked in that driveway rather than in a commercial car park.”__3__ Around 20, 000 people have advertised their spaces on the website, and he says around half a million drivers use them.

__4__ They are people who run things like traditional hotels and commercial car parks. They are afraid of ending up losing money.

__5__ Regulations for these new businesses are unclear. How will renting out your driveway affect your neighbour? Because this is a new business world, those rules aren't there yet.

  A. It seem to have occupied the majority of the market.

  B. Both of these can help you make money.

  C. And there is another problem.

  D. And his great idea has proved a success.

  E. But the new business of renting has its competitors.

  F. There are many ways to earn money.

  G. A commercial car park is inconvenient.

1.B 根据空后的“Many people are benefiting from this new business of renting.”

3.D 根据空后的“Around 20,000 people have advertised their spaces on the website, and he says around half a million drivers use them.”

4.E 根据空后的“They are people who run things like traditional hotels and commercial car parks. They are afraid of ending up losing money.”

5.C 根据空后的“Regulations for these new businesses are unclear.”

I was in trouble in overcoming my addiction to alcohol, and __1__ was my friend Mike. We never met each other until we came __2__ in the same treatment facility. Then we __3__ (be) out of the treatment center and returned to our life. Finally we became inseparable friends like brothers.

There was never a time __4__ I called him and he did not call me right back within a couple of __5__ (hour). We valued every chance we have to keep __6__ (we) both on the right track.

One day, I called Mike but he wasn't in. As usual, I had to leave a message, fully __7__ (expect) to hear from him later that evening or the next day. But I had not heard from him for nearly two days, and I became very __8__ (anxiety). On the third day, I received a message from Mike's wife that Mike had been killed in __9__ unexplained truck crash on the morning of my call.

I attended my friend's funeral, and even though I could __10__ (hard) walk, I helped carry my friend to his final resting place. Mike is still here, in my heart and my soul.

hardly(几乎不)符合语境。

  范文

  Dear_Peter,

  I'm_writing_to_tell_you_something_about_ehongbao,_which_is_becoming_popular_in_China.

Ehongbao is actually a kind of lucky money from and to relatives and friends during festivals or on special occasions. For many young people, grabbing ehongbao on their mobile phones is a fairly common and exciting activity. Unlike the tradition of elders giving lucky money to children, over half of the people sending ehongbao are in their 20s. It's just for fun or giving best wishes, while the sum of money matters little. In a word, ehongbao is bringing new color to the old tradition.

Nevertheless, I'm concerned about the safety of online payment. So rules and regulations need to be improved regarding the ehongbao system to guarantee its operation.

  Best_wishes!

  Yours,

  Li_Hua
