今年我国将扩大耕地轮作休耕制度试点规模。农业部副部长余欣荣表示，要把试点区打造成政策改革的“试验区”、生产方式变革的“样板区”。

China will expand its trials of crop rotation and fallow systems this year as part of efforts to facilitate the green development of agriculture.

今年我国将扩大耕地轮作休耕制度试点规模，促进农业绿色发展。

“轮作”（crop rotation）指在同一田块上有顺序地在季节间和年度间轮换种植不同作物的种植方式。比如，在同一田块上，一年种大豆，一年种小麦，一年种玉米，接下来每年按照上述顺序轮换种植。在南方一年多熟的条件下，一年内还可以按照季节进行轮换种植。

“休耕”（fallow）指对肥力不足、地力较差的耕地，一定时期内不种农作物，但仍进行管理和维护，以恢复地力。

Arable land covered under crop rotation measures will increase to 10 million mu (around 666,666.67 hectares), mainly in northeastern and northern areas where corn, soybeans and oil crops are grown, according to a press conference of the Ministry of Agriculture on Tuesday.

2月28日的农业部发布会表示，我国将在主产玉米、大豆和粮油作物的东北和北方地区推广轮作1000万亩。

The fallow system will cover 2 million mu of farmland affected by environmental problems, including heavy metal pollution and desertification, in north China's Hebei Province, central China's Hunan Province, and some western regions.

在河北地下水漏斗区、湖南重金属污染区、西部生态严重退化地区休耕200万亩。

其他的农业增产措施还有：

套种（relay cropping）：在前季作物生长后期的株行间播种或移栽后季作物的种植方式。

间作（intercropping）：一茬有两种或两种以上生育季节相近的作物，在同一块田地上成行或成带（多行）间隔种植的方式。
