There are many famous museums throughout the world where people can enjoy art. Washington D .C.has the National Gallery of Art (美术馆); Paris has the Louvre; London, the British Museum. Florida International University (FIU) in Miami also shows art for people to see. And it does so without a building, or even a wall for its drawings and paintings.
FIU has opened what it says is the first computer art museum in the United States. You don’t have to visit the University to see the art. You just need a computer linked to a telephone.
You can call the telephone number of a University computer and connect your own computer to it. All of the art is stored in the school computer. It is computer art, produced electronically (采用电子手段) by artists in their own computers. In only a few minutes, your computer can receive and copy all the pictures and drawings.
Robert Shostak is director of the new computer museum. He says he started the museum because computer artists had no place to show their work.
A computer artist could only record his pictures electronically and send the records, or floppy discs (软盘), to others to see on their computers. He could also put his pictures on paper. But to print good pictures in paper, the computer artist needed an expensive laser (激光) printer.
Robert Shostak says the electronic museum is mostly for art or computer students at schools and universities. Many of the pictures in the museum are made by students. Mr Shostak says the FIU museum will make computer art more fun for computer artists because more people can see it. He says artists will enjoy their work much more if they have an_audience. And the great number of home computers in America could mean a huge audience for the electronic museum.

All of us, at some point, experience nights where we have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep. The National Institute of Health estimates that one in three adults have bits of mild sleeplessness or insomnia (失眠), while one in ten suffer from chronic (长期的) insomnia.
Sleeplessness can be caused by many different things. Most people experience sleeplessness for an outside stimulus (刺激) such as stress, improper diet or a poor sleeping environment. Once the stimulus passes, the ability to sleep will usually return. Chronic sleeplessness may be caused by ongoing health concerns such as the physical pain of arthritis (关节炎) or the emotional pain of anxiety and depression.
Those that suffer from sleepless nights may find themselves feeling sleepy or tired during the day. The ability to concentrate or focus on a task reduces and they are less mentally alert. Because the body needs sleep to support a healthy immune system, those who have little sleep may be more affected by both acute and chronic illnesses like high blood pressure and diabetes.
Sleeplessness not only has effects on your physical self but also your emotional well-being. Being unable to sleep well for a few nights may only produce anger. However, if sleeplessness becomes chronic, the price could be much higher in the form of anxiety, depression and possibly substance abuse. Those with chronic sleeplessness may turn to controlled substances like sleeping pills and alcohol to help them have a good night’s sleep.
There are numerous ways for mild sleeplessness at home. Prepare your body for sleep by avoiding drinks such as tea or coffee before bed. Don’t exercise too much before bedtime; instead, do something to relax yourself. Finally, create a favorable sleeping environment by removing stimulants from your bedroom like extra lighting or a television. If you still cannot find relief, it may be time to visit your physician for help.
not a little的意思是“很,相当”,not a bit则是“一点也不”。
四个选项中只有A项the first time可以引导时间状语从句。for the first time是副词短语,意为“第一次”,at first意为“首先,起初”。
3.A provide与for搭配,表示“为……
4.D be about to…when…“正要做……
时间状语是at this time tomorrow,故时态用将来进行时,选C。
No worry别担心;Take it easy别紧张;Not in the least一点儿也不;That’s OK好吧。
even if即使,引导让步状语从句;in case以防、以免,引导目的状语从句;as if/though引导方式状语从句,意为“好像”;in order that引导目的状语从句,意为“以便”。
You can call the telephone number of a University computer and connect your own computer to it可知答案。
It is computer art, produced electronically…
He says he started the museum because computer artists had no place to show their work看,Robert Shostak 开办这家电子艺术博物馆的目的是为艺术家们创造一个展示艺术的天地,因此B为最佳答案。
根据文中的“artists will enjoy their work much more”可推断此处的观众是指观赏艺术品的观众,尤其可推断选D。
The National Institute of Health estimates that one in three adults have bits of mild sleeplessness or insomnia (失眠), while one in ten suffer from chronic (长期的) insomnia.
Sleeplessness can be caused by many different things.
Most people experience sleeplessness for an outside stimulus (刺激) such as stress, improper diet or a poor sleeping environment.
Sleeplessness not only has effects on your physical self but also your emotional well-being.
25.illnesses 根据第三段…those who have little sleep may be more affected by both acute and chronic illnesses like high blood pressure and diabetes.
Being unable to sleep well for a few nights may only produce anger.
However, if sleeplessness becomes chronic, the price could be much higher in the form of anxiety, depression and possibly substance abuse.
There are numerous ways for mild sleeplessness at home.
Prepare your body for sleep by avoiding drinks such as tea or coffee before bed.
Don’t exercise too much before bedtime; instead, do something to relax yourself.
