4、 sow
(sowed, sowed/sown) vt. 播种,种;(+with) 散布,传播 ◆He plowed the land and then sowed the seeds. 他先翻土,然后播种。
◆The farmer sowed the field with wheat. 农夫在地里种上小麦种子。
◆He tried to sow discontent among us. 他企图在我们中间散布不满情绪。 ◆It is not yet time to sow.

count on 依靠;依赖,期待,指望+sb./sth./doing sth.=depend on/rely on
count on sb. to do sth. 依赖某人做某事
count on sb. for sth. 依靠某人某物
count on it that… 你可以相信…… ◆I count on your help. 我指望你的帮助。 ◆Don't count on others for help. 不要依靠别人的援助。 ◆You can always count on him. 你可以绝对信赖他。 ◆We count on a compass to find our way. 我们依靠指南针来指路。 汉译英 ①我能指望你吗? _____________________________________ ①Can I count on you? ②We are friends you can count on. 汉译英 ②我们是你可信赖的朋友! _____________________________________ 句型中 to waste all of his time and money in amusing himself是不定式短语作目的状语,waste time/money (in) doing sth. 表示“浪费时间或金钱做某事”,与动词spend构成的句型相同。 ◆Don't waste your time playing computer games. It is time that you made effort to study. 不要浪费时间玩电脑游戏了,该努力学习了。 1、…where a son left home to waste all of his time and money in amusing himself. ……那个故事讲述了儿子离开家,虚度光阴、挥霍金钱享乐。 My parents do not allow ______ time ______ nothing.

D. wasting; doing D 句意:我父母亲不允许浪费时间,无所事事。allow之后接动名词作宾语,waste的句型是waste time/money (in) doing sth., in可以省略。 it是形式主语,真正的主语是由that引导的主语从句,这个主语从句包括一个由if引导的条件状语从句,从句的主句中又有一个由so that引导的结果状语从句。It is said that…意为“据说”,repeated and multiplied作宾语the sounds的补足语。 2、 It's said that if you stand about 20 metres away from the pagoda and clap your hands, you will hear the sounds repeated and multiplied from the roof so that it sounds like frogs croaking.
