  2016年陕西汉中市高考英语二轮阅读理解选练(9)(含答案)

2016高考训练题。阅读理解阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。Children are children after all, and most of them speak their mind. When they are just toddlers(幼儿), no matter how naughty or rude they are, we think it is amusing to watch them speak like a grown-up. But as they grow, these same kids seem annoying and ill-mannered if they try to sound grown-up.

Conflicts often appear between parents and children. Reasoning does not seem to work with them. It's hard to tell who are right and who are wrong. A child of 7-8 always finds some reasons to have a conflict with his parents. Whether it is about some toys, studies, basic affairs, parties or friends, there is always a difference in opinions between them. And it becomes worse when they answer you back. Psychologists say that children should be handled with care. Yes, sure they should be but not at the cost of disrespecting their elders.

We are partly responsible for this situation. At an early age we encourage grown-up-like behaviour, just because we find it amusing. The kids on the other hand consider this same behavior as normal and get used to it. And when it is not funny for us any more, we expect them to stop it, but by then it is already too late.

Only when they reach a certain maturity will the children realize that answering back and being rude are not acceptable. Until then, most of the time their behavior is difficult to change, unless by force. And the use of force is again not a very good idea, as it weakens the child's confidence.

Thus this brings us to the conclusion that it is one thing to bring a child into this world but quite another to make them into well mannered citizens. The best way is to be a good example ourselves, as our children are a reflection of us adults.

1.Which of the following statements is true according to the passage?

  A. It is annoying to watch children speak like a grown-up.

  B. We should deal with children carefully according to psychologists.

  C. We are totally responsible for our kids’ impolite behaviour.

  D. Most of the time children’s behaviour is easy to change.

  A. There are usually conflicts of opinions between parents and children.

  B. Children would like toys better than their parents.

  C. Children always look down upon their parents.

  D. It’s strange for children and parents to disagree with each other.

3.Which of the following is part of the reason for the present situation of the children?

  A. Children always think their parents’ opinions are wrong.

  B. Parents often try to change their children by force.

  C. Parents give too much loose to children.

  D. Children are often asked to follow their parents.

  4. What does the underlined sentence in the last paragraph probably mean?

  A. It is important that we teach children how to behave well and bring them into the world.

  B. It is important to bring a child into the world safe and sound.

  C. We should try to make a child follow the elders.

阅读理解。阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。You’ve seen news reports about people who need help after a flood. Maybe you’ve walked past people who are sleeping on the streets. Or perhaps you’ve watched TV programs about how lonely older people can get. So what can you do about any of those things? The answer: You can volunteer (做志愿者).

Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills — from working as part of a team to setting and reaching goals. It gives you a chance to find out what kinds of things you’re good at and enjoy the most. Volunteering can provide you with a sense of responsibility because people really depend on you. And it can help you understand disabled (残疾的) people, sick kids, or the elderly.

Volunteering helps people feel they do have the power to change things for the better. When people depend on you, it can change the way you look at yourself, and this is the main reason that makes volunteering attractive. You can feel proud of the goals that you’ve achieved (实现) for a charity organization (慈善组织) — whether it’s helping to organize a 10K to raise money for lung cancer or running the race itself.

Sometimes it’s easy to feel worried about your grades or the fight you had with your friend or parents. And although these things are very important in their own way, sometimes it can be helpful to get some distance and think about other things. Volunteering allows you to do this. It lets you focus on others that are worth doing.

Finally, volunteering can help save you from being bored — it gives you a place to be where you can have a good time and keep busy.

  1. From the passage, we can learn that volunteering ____.

  A. is the best way to find out your interests

  B. mainly helps the old and the poor people

  C. makes sure volunteers will get a good job in the future

  D. can help volunteers choose a job that they really like in the future

  2. Today, most people volunteer mainly for the purpose of ______.

  A. making themselves famous and popular

  B. knowing their value by helping others

  C. increasing their knowledge and learning skills

  D. helping people out of trouble

  3. What do the underlined words “a 10K” (Paragraph 3) probably refer to?

  A. A charity organization.

  B. A volunteer group.

  4. The purpose of the passage is to ________.

  A. talk about the difficulties of volunteering

  D. talk about the advantages of volunteering

答案:B2016·泰安高三二轮复习质量检测Howie Choset,a roboticist, has been researching and building robots, particularly snake robots,at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University for years.

Choset believes that his snake robot and others like it help reduce medical costs by making complex surgeries (外科手术) faster and easier.Choset says his new design is smaller and more flexible than earlier models. The size of surgical robots allows surgeons to operate with far less damage to the body, helping the patient heal faster. For example, instead of opening the entire chest up during heart surgery,a small hole is made, and a thin robotic snake crawls inside to the proper spot.

Dr Ashutosh Tewari of Cornell University Medical Center has used robotic tools to perform thousands of operations.Tewari said he’s most excited about the potential for surgical robots to do things humans can’t do.He said the variety of sensors available for surgical robots keeps expanding, even as they get smaller. He said they may one day be able to test chemicals or blood in the body,or even the electrical connections in nerves.

Choset has also built larger snake robots designed for search and rescue,or just exploration. They can climb poles or trees and then look around through a camera in the head, and slid through places humans can’t reach.

Another expert at Carnegie Mellon stresses that there’s still an enormous gap between humans and even the most hightech robots.Manuela Velosa noted that robots have been built that are good at one or two tasks—but not at the variety of tasks humans perform without even thinking.

Velosa has been building robots that ask humans for help when they don’t know what to do,as well as teams of robots that play soccer against each other.Sometimes, the robots surprise her by having once defeated the other team.

“It was programmed by me,but it looked to me as if they learned,” she said.“I believe we are much closer to having robots be able to exist with humans peacefully. The beautiful thing is you see the robots learning.”

1.How does Choset help save medical costs?

A.By changing the size of robots frequently.

  B.By designing larger snake robots.

C.By making complex surgeries faster and easier.

D.By improving the models of earlier snake robots.

.The main advantage of using the thin surgical robot is________.

A.reducing the damage to the body

B.proving the technology useful to them

C.helping the doctors make much money

  D.worsening the patient’s sickness

  .According to Manuela Velosa,________.

A.robots will replace humans in the future

B.robots can do much better than humans at some tasks

C.no robots can be made to turn to humans for help

D.robots are able to learn by themselves

.What can be inferred from the text?

A.The snake robot is thought to have no potential.

B.Larger snake robots are not practical.

C.Doctors will refuse to use the snake robot.

D.The future robot will be smarter and more popular.

.What is the text mainly about?

  A.Three famous roboticists.

  B.Researching and building robots.

  C.How to make snake robots.
